Client is a leading foodtech major and one of the successful start-ups to have been able to deliver a fork-to-farm from an idea to a living, profitable model and generating investments from marquee PE investors. Along the way, the firm had ventured into several adjacencies, taking the firm into several areas and the firm was planning to coalesce the operations around three business units.
The client wanted to hire a M&A lead who will work with the CEOs of the three BUs, identify the strategic intent and identify potential inorganic opportunities in the $5-$50M range which can boost business further. The client desired the person to have had prior experience across the M&A lifecycle including scouting, negotiating, closing and value recovery.
