Client is a conglomerate with a significant presence in shipping, that started off as a captive arm but very quickly turned into a full-service shipping line that catered to other clients, globally. In fact, by this time, captive usage was just a small fraction of the overall operations.

With the covid-induced disruptions in supply chain, one of the major beneficiaries was shipping industry – not just from higher prices, but from ‘smart’ and ‘agile’ moves such as switching to the most profitable lanes, buying and selling ships at the right time and many other such key decisions.

The ask was to hire a CFO who will bring the smartness and agility to work with the CEO and the CMD to spot and tap into these fast-changing opportunities. The candidate could come from any industry but had to be young, have an international orientation and be agile and street smart.
