Client is one of the largest e-com majors in the world and was in the initial stages of ramping up its operations in India. Fashion was a fast growing vertical and the client wanted to hire a person from the apparel/fashion industry who can help capture growth, amidst explosive market growth accompanied by intense competition from other, home-grown e-com companies. The person would run the fashion vertical as a P&L with decision rights over assortment, vendors/sellers, pricing/discounting and logistics.

The client desired to hire the person from fashion apparel industry but was open to adjacencies such as FMCG, accessories, footwear etc. However, the person was required to have delivered high growth and demonstrated capability in terms of managing scaling up issues including team management.
